Introduction

Berhampur, also known as Brahmapur, is a significant city on the eastern coastline of the Ganjam district of Odisha, 9 miles (14 km) from the Bay of Bengal. It lies on the national highway between Kolkata (Calcutta) and Chennai (Madras) and on the South-Eastern Railway line. It is a major trade centre for agricultural products of the region and has many traditional industries. It is the main academic hub of Southern Odisha and a place of tourist attraction too.

 

STPI-Berhampur office campus has been constructed on a 3-acre land and the centre was inaugurated on August 20, 2010, by Shri. Naveen Patnaik, the then Hon’ble Chief Minister of Odisha. From its inception, the centre has been encouraging the local youth in the Ganjam district to become successful Entrepreneurs by establishing their own start-ups. Many incubators have utilized the plug-n-play and raw incubation facilities provided by the centre and become self-reliant.

 

Disaster Recovery Centre

In addition to providing the statutory, data communication, and incubation services, STPI Berhampur is also providing the Disaster Recovery Centre (DRC) facility to TP Central Odisha Distribution Limited (TPCODL) which is a joint venture between Tata Power and the Government of Odisha was set up in 2018 and has a record uptime of 100% since its inception.
