STPI at Rourkela center was founded in 2001 and since then has been catering the needs of IT/ITeS industry and acting as catalyst for the growth of IT/ITES/ESDM sector. Exports from Rourkela Center is gearing up and making every year substantial contribution in export turnover for the growth of economy of Odisha state. At present, Whole Incubation space of Rourkela Center, area 10000 Sq.ft. is fully occupied wherein 8 Nos. of Small and Medium entrepreneurs are working in different domains of IT/ITES sector. Around 500 Employment opportunities have been created directly and indirectly by STPI at Rourkela and creating conducive environment for the promotion of Startup culture and entrepreneurial development.

Rourkela is a city located at 84.54E longitude and 22.12N latitude in Sundergarh district of Odisha at an elevation of about 219 meters above mean sea level. This City is located at a distance of around 335 KM west of Bhubaneswar, the capital of Odisha state and on the Kolkata-Mumbai South Eastern railway line which is a major route connecting the two metros of India.
